Textile Designer, Weaver, Maker, Artist and Technician.
Sley, a tool to force the weft yarns into place.
Fox On The Sley is based in West Yorkshire, and is also known as David Fox. He creates three dimensional architectural, interior installation based textiles that plays around with light and space. He also has a commercial collection which is woven textiles for interiors and accessories. His Studio is at Sunny Bank Mills, which his practice is inspired by their Architecture and their Museum and Archive of once working woollen worsted textile mill, producing fine cloth. Fox uses woven textiles as well as a more fine art textiles approach to communicate the heritage, memories and skills of those who wanted worked in the mill. The memory of our textile heritage is important to him, as in order to move forward we have to look back.
