The Warper Collection is a 3D architectural woven textiles collection that interacts with spaces and light, and is made for the public to see and touch. This collection is based on Sunny Bank Mills and their Archive, inspired by the heritage, architecture, and collective memory of past workers and their tools. This collection is split into two. One half is more paper and steel mixed yarn based woven textiles, weaving self-folding textiles which light can travel through. Whilst the other is cotton based pleated double cloth, which light hits and altering the colours and shadows. Both collections are to divide up the public spaces of the mill, bringing heritage into the site of the mill for the public to engage with.
